Clothes Stealers: Stealing from outfits past.

I got a new dress this week!
Is it cute enough to distract you from the same old pair of boots I wear with literally everything?

Cardigan:: GapOutlet, Dress, Tights, Boots:: Target, Tank:: H&M

Ba-less my heart!
No matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to part with these boots.
They literally go with everything.

Do you have an item in your closet that you wear all the time?
How do you mix things up?

Help a sista out!
Hansie.

P.S. Linking up with these lovely ladies here,  here and here!

Running Late for a Fall Day: Guest Post from Le Fanciulle

We got some med students up in here!
Chex it out:
Le Fanciulle
________________________________________________

Why do we say funky & functional fall outfits...? (Being functional's not just for grannies, you know.) Because the biggest challenge in Fall (or Autumn, as we say in Aus) is catering for the brisk mornings & warm afternoons without changing outfits thrice!!

Continuing our series of I'm Running Late For... posts on Le Fanciulle, I hereby present you with:

I'm Running Late for a Fall Day recipe for style success.

1. A light under-layer appropriate for a warm afternoon. Think- light maxi dress, cotton day dress, etc.
2. Medium weight over layer. Keep your cashmere for the colder days & focus on cotton cable knit jumpers or holey knits.
3. A warm scarf or snood that can keep you warm at the bus stop or on the journey home in the evening.

1. Light layer: maxi dress- check!

2. Medium layer: cotton holey cardigan- check!

3. Warm snood: DIY'd by us!- check!

The above is an example of a Floutfit (Flat Outfit)... the result of a blogger who isn't skilled at self timer & whose partner in crime is not handy!

Visit our blog if you like DIYs, Floutfits & crazy fun adventures!

Clothes Stealers: Stealing From Summer To Clothe Autumn...

Do you see this dress?

si-fri and i
I pretty much live in it all summer...
and because I'm a little clingy, it can be tough for me to transition to thicker, warmer dresses in the fall.

I just love it in all of it's faded, over-worn, cotton-y goodness...

So this is my attempt to "steal from summer" to revel in fall.
scarf::cost plus world market; cardigan & belt:: h&m; dress:: OLD; tights & boots:: target

Anything favorite summer pieces you're transitioning into fall with?
Do spill!

Fall Favorites Series: Lindsey the BFF.

Ooooh-eeee! Have we got a treat for you! Hansie's bff from high school is stopping in with her  favorite trick to spice up your wardrobe this fall!
We just know you're going to love her classic, with-a-splidge-of-spunk style!
We sure do!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello blog and Etta Grace lovers, I am one too!

Iʼm Lindsey, Hansieʼs bestie from way back when we were awkward and fashion challenged like
all 14 year old girls.
Yuck!
Since then, we have grown through the pages of In Style and Vogue together.
And the occasional J. Crew catalog and Anthro visit.
Now Hansie makes fashion and I sell it,
we laugh in the face of photos from 1996 with Dr. Martinʼs and Abercrombie sweaters.
Although in the moment I am sure we were cute, duh!
Hans and Rach asked me to guest blog on my favorite fall fashion tip.
For fall, and really any season, I love patterns and prints.

Right now my must have and go to is LEOPARD!!!!!!!
Let me tell you leopard is the new nude.
Wear it anywhere.
Shoes...belt...cardigan...jacket...blouse.
Here is how I do it.
Anytime you are piecing together an outfit and you reach for that ivory, tan, or beige piece

Flippity floppity it out!

I promise you leopard will do the trick every time...

Even better, you will walk out the door feeling in trend and not over stated!

Thanks for letting me stop by!

Rwar,
Lindsey

Clothes Stealers: Tippety Top, Flippity Flop.

Rachey Pooh and I are eight years apart.
Most of the time I don't notice any difference.
Because...

*We both have a deep love for Mariah, Whitney and the children of Destiny.

*We both understand how there is nothing quite like eating a baguette with brie while sitting on cobblestone somewhere in France.

*We both despise cats.

*We both are nerds who love school.

*We are both already listening to Christmas music.

*We both luuuurve Anthropologie, J. Crew and EmersonMade.

*We both think "You Got Served" is one of the best, worst movies ever.
Right after "Save the Last Dance 2". For realz.

hat:: stolen from rach-- dress, tights & boots:: target-- belt:: h&m-- bracelets:: china & forever 21.

*And, we BOTH love floppy felt hats.
Only Rach has one.
So I stole it.

We may not both have a floppy felt hat, but we can both wear one.
Ahh the joys of clothes stealing.

What?! I'm 30, I do what I want.

Fall Favorites: Guest Post from Liz of "Cotton & Curls"

Oooh Lovelies... have we got something special for you today!
The beautiful, creative and all around talented Liz from Cotton and Curls is here today to talk about her Fall Favorites and we are so so so stinkin' excited!

Mostly because she's adorable....
has mad sewing skillz...
is living in Shanghai (where Hannah's hubs family is from!)
and has the ca-utest blog ever! We just luff her and we know you will to!
Checks it!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey Etta Grace readers! I'm Liz from Cotton and Curls and I was asked to post about my fall favorites…and really I could go on forever because fall IS my favorite season! Why you ask? Well, if I had to pick just 3 reasons, which would be very hard to do, they would be the holidays (mmmm, looooove costumes, scary movies and family reunions), the changing leaves with it's cooler weather, and mostly, of course, the fashion! I will always and forever look forward to fall fashion. I get to layer and layer and layer the colder it gets, its wonderful! I have yet to see China cool down, it is actually perfect and in the 70s, but I'm slowly pulling out the sweaters, stockings, blazers, long sleeved button ups, and maxis more and more everyday. And when crisp fall weather finally makes its appearance here, I will know exactly what I want to wear, and it perfectly coincides with telling you guys my favorite fashion trends this fall!

I'm LOVING the outwear this season with its the capes, ponchos, nautical buttoned blazers adorned with fur, elbow patches, tassels, fun buttons, and more. I love the tall sexy, yet sophisticated boots and wedged heels that make an outfit so stylin'. And I'm mostly in love with the colors this fall...oh the beautiful colors! Growing up I always felt that bright fun colors were only left to be worn in spring and summer. Its liberating! I can wear almost whatever I want! Wahoo!

And more than I love to wear fall fashion, I love to sew it! Like this scarf and box pleat paper bag skirt. The endless possibilities! Oh my oh my do I love everything about the fall!!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks so much Liz!
We're so inspired with all that fashion! Just might have to sew something fall-ish this weekend!

Hugs,
Hansie & Rachie Pooh

Do you think it hurts...

To get struck by lightening???

We've had insane weather here in Chicago... and I've been wondering just that.
Does it hurt to get hit by lightening?
Thunder storm after thunderstorm has been rolling through the city for a few weeks now...
Ah Chicago... you sure know how to keep a girl on her toes!

All this weather has me obsessed with the sky...
Can you handle how insanely gorgeous it is?!?!?

And makes me want a pair of these... Oh EmersonMade... you sure know how to get me... sigh.

What do you love about the rain?

xoxo- Hansie

is it hot in here??? or is it just me?: Clothes Stealers

Hannah: whose idea was this anyway?

the high in chicago was 103 degrees yesterday... with the humidity it felt like 1,000,003 degrees...

now i'm all for summer scarf-ness... but with a heat index like that... ugh... i. die.

bad idea hannah. bad idea.

because of my lameness- i did not take any model shots working a summer scarf... because to be honest... all i would be wearing would be a summer scarf... and that's not modest. and i'm all- about- modesty.

so instead... you get model shots of me while on vacation in Turkey... I wore a scarf then... because i'm prepared like that... i knew they would come in handy one day. nice.

scarf: old navy... boyfriend t: target... capris: macys... flops: american eagle... cute silk scarf bag: greece.

Rachel: Well, I took some shots, because up until two days ago it felt more like Christmas than summer.
Why do I say Christmas and not winter?
Because we've been watching The Preachers Wife and listening to the Pandora Holiday music channel...It's helping to offset this weird weather.

Scarf: Vintage Kimono: Vintage Dress: Gap
Watch: Vintage Shoes: Thrifted Visulators: Warby Parker

Now it's your turn... link up lovelies! And while you're at it... hop on over here and link up too!

Next Week: Tie-dye

I ain't no rapper... but I'm tryin' to wrap fo sho.

Dear dearly...

So... the other day, I kind of sort of made a wrap...

I had this fantastic idea in my head about how it would turn out....

It wasn't quite what I was hoping or expected it to be...

but for a first attempt... without a pattern... I like it...

Attempt 2 and 3 will be much better. Promise.

What do you think?

If you don't like this wrap... how about this rap?
