Yes, This 100% is a Glamour shot that my mom made me get while at
the tepid "Gal's Night Out at the CDA Mall." Can you believe this level of
glamour was free?

And a beautiful summer:

Brother, husband, and sis-in law at the blue lagoons

sweet smelling new nephews

Helping with a friends wedding

sharing flowers with the worlds largest bees

rekindling my love for poppies

strawberry harvest

But now it's time for fall. Hopefully the weather will turn soon. It's been in the upper 80's here

but I've been stalwart in wearing my fall cords and sweaters. 

This weather will not stop me from exuding coziness. 

I am strong.

And excited to start sharing again.

Weeknight Movies in the Park.

Last night I watched the musical, West Side Story in a park near my house...

Surrounded by friends...

Yummy goodness...

Grass between my toes...

It was a sweet night...
full of lots of laughter & "shaky face" photos...

Sigh... I love me some summer.

Happy Monday! The weekend in review...

This. Weekend. Was. Baaaaaah-zurk!

For realz loves.

It was (not kidding) 104 in Chicago... and...

I was literally running a mile a minute 

(sadly this is no where near the actual pace I've been running during my half marathon training lately... humph....)

This weekend I...

-Sewed... sewed... and sewed some more...

-Hung out with two cute characters... she speaks British... he speaks "new yorker"... it's a fun combo.

- Spent a few hours roasting in the sun at our church picnic.

- Prepared some custom EttaGrace orders to be shipped! Hip hip hooray!

-Worked... for realz worked... wrote curriculum... which is almost as exciting as it sounds... almost.

-Lay around a bit (C'mon... no matter how busy a weekend is... it's still the weekend!)

-Shopped a bit with Elz-a-Bells.
-Went for an early morning run with the Hubs.

-Drank a few quad espressos over ice... sigh... so good. 

-BBQ'd with a baby on a rooftop deck downtown.

It was a good weekend... but now I'm pooped! I need a weekend to recover from my weekend... Ha!

 Fortunately we get another one in just 5 little days...

Sugar. I L-O-V-E it.

Arkansas or bust!

My weekend just ended... 

The Hubs and I... plus a group of our closest friends... headed down to Arkansas for the weekend for this character's wedding...

We took a round about way to get to Arkansas... flying from Chicago to Kansas City and road tripping the rest of the way... saved us a few bucks and we had a blast!

Our traveling companions were Kirtrude and Si-Fri...

With nothing but the open road in front of us... we made sure to include all the necessary ingredients for a perf road trip.

Sleeping in the back... 

Parties in the front...

"Tajo" Bell stops... um... y-uh-mmmmmm!

It was def fabbity fab dah-link!

Only down side... Freddo got his first speeding ticket ever! Boo!

Sigh... summers were made for road trips!

Physics makes us solid

Today was the last day of finals for me...wahoo!

I walked out of my physics final at four o'clock

went home

spread out an old sheet and laid in the 72 degree weather until dinner....mmmm

dinner started out with six of us and quickly multiplied when the smell of charcoal hit the air waves.

We ended the night with a couple of flesh wounds and some banana boats (scrape out 1/3 of banana, stuff with chocolate and marshmallow. Roast to toast, Yum.) and scary stories around the fire.

p.s. I just got an opportunity to work in an old professors lab this summer 

he is working on studying how glial cells are affected by obesity and a botanical extract that can stop certain types of dysentery. I'm really excited for the opportunity. I get to take the mouses blood and test their sugars!

My complexion has taken on a coat of ash, that's how burned out on school I am. 

In honor of the fact that summer officially begins on Wednesday

-last day of finals-

here are five things I will participate in once 5PM hits:

1. Cry from exhaustion

2. eat fried ice cream

3. Put on a dress that looks like a mop head and nap in the forest

4. Play some badminton...the "it" game of the summer
