Hello Etta Grace readers!!  I'm Shelly.  I like to make pretty things and I usually babble daily over at GS Lillian, however, Rachel and Hannah have asked me to stop by and say "Hi" to you guys today, and I'm thrilled to get to tell you about some of my fall favorites!!

Honestly, there isn't much about fall that isn't my favorite...so I decided to show you THE things that I find most inspiring, and they are COLOR and PRINTS.  This outfit incorporates my absolute favorite colors for fall + two much loved prints, floral and polka dots {if I thought I could get away with it I would have added a little leopard print too}. 

But that's not all I love...

My last fall favorite is this green cuff, and I love it so much that I just can't keep it to myself, SO I'm giving one away to you guys!!  I'm going to give you a bunch of ways to enter because I really want you to win...

Kristopher's up in SP finishing out his summer job which means I'm down here

for school.

He won't move down here in three weeks, but there will be intermittent visits in between then and now.

I only cried once, which I take as a sign of relationship maturity.

1. Lots of diet cherry pepsi. I like to drink a bunch and let the subsequent hiccups break up the silence in this lovelorn cave.

2.Throwning myself into my schoolwork. Which, fortunately for me, is the norm for pre-meds.

3. Rag curls. KKat hates when I wear them...kind of like how I hate that we now have a cat.

4. Meatloaf...veganized....nothing goes better with heartbreak than a loaf of faux meat and a bottle of ketchup (expect recipe soon).

5. Mister Krister's weekend visit. During which, I will keep my hand firmly glued to his rear end.

Because it is cute, and because that is where the money is stored. 

Just kidding, but seriously.

5 for 5: Hannah's 5 Reasons Being A Vegetarian Ain't So Bad.

Mmmk. I'm on Day 5 of being a vegetarian and I'm not going to lie... I'm kind of rocking it out.
For realz. I am dominating the veggies and ignoring all meat. It's no bigs.
And while I'll admit, I was definitely dreading giving up that specific source of protein... I've found myself pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable this week as actually been...
**gasp**

So- without further ado... My 5 reasons this week hasn't been half bad.

1. I feel like I'm making better choices about what I eat everyday and finding easy veggie inspired options.

2. I actually do feel cooler. Kind of like this kid...

3. Eggplant... anything... oooh! I forgot how much I love eggplant...

4. Rachey Pooh is happy!

5. I've been feeling really healthy and am getting more and more excited about my half marathon with these two in October!

 

So... did anyone else rock it our vegetarian or vegan style this week?

Dietary Collection Agency: Vegan Giveaway

I collect diets.

I think what I love about it is the information and immersion into a different culture that you get to experience. When I was kosher, I learned how many of the biblical dietary laws were a way to keep germs at bay during a time before the knowledge of bacteria. When I was pescatarian I learned all about overfishing and the sustainability/ necessity of farmed fish. And when I was living on the "$5 a week" diet, I learned how gassy human beings get when they only eat beans and rice for three months.

Plants. Exciting!

Now that I'm making my foray into veganism (and Hannah's week (more like weak...jk but seriously) long "adventure" into vegetarianism) we wanted to kick off this new knowledge hunt with a little vegan treat giveaway!

The MOST important Giveaway we've ever held....

Megg is a girl that upon meeting, you won't soon forget.

She has some massive amounts of energy... she's gorgeous... she has rock solid faith...

and she oozes and heaps out love onto all she meets.

Now Megg is also a mama.

She has an incredibly precious and beautiful little boy, named Cole.

(and a brand new baby girl! congrats!!)

When Cole was born, Megg learned that 1/3 of her little boy's brain suffered damage.

As a result, Cole has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, CVI (cortical vision impairment), and severe developmental delays.

Megg has spent her days for the past few years, taking care of her boy... holding him... swimming with him... cuddling him... and learning patience in new ways she never knew she'd need.

Cole has been one of her biggest blessings.

Now Cole has been given an opportunity to receive a cutting edge treatment that could result in some major life changes.
It has the potential to cure or lesson his symptoms!

Unfortunately, Megg's health insurance doesn't cover the procedure. So Megg and her hubs need to raise the $16,500 (yikes!) that the procedure will cost.

My Cup Runneth Over... The Weekend in Review.

Do you ever have those moments or days when your heart is so full of joy it could just burst?

Hubs and I had a day just like that this Saturday...

We woke up later than usual... Went for a run...

then ran to the church to...

Watch this adorable couple get married...

(The Hubs video taped the ceremony and I helped prepare the food for the reception while I flaunted it in my $10 dress I got in China!!)...

We took our time getting home from the wedding, stopping to grocery shop along the way...

The Hubs bought me beautiful tulips and I bought him a watermelon... ah love...

We spent the rest of the night doing a little crafting... watching a movie and munching on homemade burritos! Yum!

It was a simple enough day... but just one of those days where you're reminded so clearly of God's sweet goodness in your life... you know?

My heart is bursting, my cup runneth over, I'm clicking my heels... 

I'm thankful and happy.
